Terms and Privacy
Effective May 2026ImageNow is a free placeholder image generator API operated by LiquidPixels, Inc. as part of LiquidPixels Labs. This policy describes what fair use means, how we protect the service, and what you can expect from us.
By using the ImageNow website, builder, or API to generate image URLs, you agree to these terms. This includes visiting the site, using the builder to configure placeholders, copying URLs, signing up for the plugin waitlist, or constructing ImageNow URLs programmatically. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These terms do not apply to end users whose browsers load placeholder images from URLs you have embedded. They are not parties to this agreement.
Service Continuity
ImageNow is built on LiquiFire OS, the same rendering infrastructure that powers enterprise production environments across hundreds of organizations. LiquidPixels Labs is how we explore new ways to make that infrastructure available to the developer community. These are not experiments that get abandoned. They are services built to stay.
If we ever need to make material changes to the service, including changes to URL structure, supported features, or availability, we will provide at least 90 days advance notice via the ImageNow website and any email address you have registered through our plugin waitlists.
If we need to discontinue the service entirely, we will provide at least 180 days advance notice and publish migration guidance to help you transition to an alternative.
Acceptable Use
ImageNow is designed for developers building websites, applications, prototypes, design mockups, documentation, and testing environments. You are welcome to use it in both development and production contexts.
Permitted use includes
- Embedding placeholder images in websites, applications, and prototypes
- Using generated URLs in automated test suites and CI/CD pipelines
- Including placeholder images in documentation, tutorials, and educational content
- Using the service in commercial projects at no cost
- Generating images through scripts or build tools as part of normal development workflows
Not permitted
- Sustained automated bulk generation exceeding 1,000 unique URLs per hour from a single IP address or user agent
- Using the service as a general-purpose image CDN, file hosting platform, or proxy
- Deliberately generating images containing offensive, illegal, or harmful content through text labels
- Attempting to exploit, overload, or probe the infrastructure for vulnerabilities
- Reselling access to the service or representing it as your own product
Normal development use, even at scale, is fine. If you are building a product that serves ImageNow URLs to end users in production, that is an intended use case. The limits above exist to prevent abuse, not to restrict legitimate development.
Rate Limiting
There is no hard rate limit for normal use. Images are rendered by LiquiFire OS and cached at the CDN layer. Repeated requests for the same URL are served from cache and do not count against any limit.
If your usage pattern generates sustained traffic that impacts service availability for other users, we may temporarily throttle requests from your IP address or user agent. If this happens, you will receive an HTTP 429 response with a Retry-After header. In most cases, waiting a few minutes and reducing request frequency resolves the issue.
If you expect to generate high volumes of unique URLs (for example, as part of a load test or automated pipeline), please contact us at labs@liquidpixels.com so we can ensure your use case is accommodated.
Intellectual Property
Images generated by ImageNow are placeholder content. You may use them freely in any context. LiquidPixels does not claim ownership over generated placeholder images.
The ImageNow name, logo, website design, URL syntax, builder interface, code snippets, documentation, and underlying LiquiFire OS technology remain the intellectual property of LiquidPixels, Inc. All rights are reserved.
You may not
- Copy, reproduce, or redistribute the ImageNow website, builder, documentation, or any supporting materials (including llms.txt, openapi.json, and code snippet templates)
- Create a competing service that replicates the ImageNow URL syntax, interface design, or feature set
- White-label, rebrand, or present ImageNow or any derivative of it as your own product or service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, rendering logic, or chain language of the underlying LiquiFire OS platform
- Proxy, mirror, or cache ImageNow responses through your own domain in a way that obscures the origin of the service
- Use the ImageNow or LiquidPixels brand names, logos, or trademarks in a way that implies endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation without prior written permission
Linking to ImageNow, referencing it in blog posts, documentation, or tutorials, and recommending it to others is encouraged. Attribution is appreciated but not required for normal use of the image generation API.
Privacy
ImageNow does not require an account, authentication, or any personal information to use the API.

Content and Takedown
ImageNow generates images dynamically based on URL parameters. No user-submitted content is stored persistently on our servers. However, the text label feature allows users to include arbitrary text in generated images.
If you believe a specific ImageNow URL is being used to generate content that infringes your intellectual property, contains defamatory material, or violates applicable law, you may submit a takedown request to labs@liquidpixels.com with the full URL and a description of the concern. We will review requests promptly and may block specific text patterns or URL combinations at our discretion.

ImageNow is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. LiquidPixels, Inc. does not guarantee specific response times, uptime levels, or image quality. While we operate the service on enterprise-grade infrastructure and intend to maintain high availability, the service may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen circumstances.
